Senior Safety Professional

The Senior Safety Professional will investigate incidents, injuries, damage to property or other safety-related concerns. They will cultivate safety and health skills and knowledge of frontline workers.

Key Accountabilities

• Investigate incidents, injuries, damage to property or other safety-related concerns
• Cultivate safety and health skills and knowledge of frontline workers
• Participate or lead Risk Assessment or Job Hazard Analysis teams
• Conduct Second Level Assurance Reviews
• Review contractor Health and Safety Plans and suggest improvements before project kickoff
• Act as subject matter expert for large project pre-job review, walk-through, planning
• Communicates safety and health information at employee meetings and safety committees
• Post safety communications in various locations as needed
• Inspect new processes, materials, tools, substances, and equipment to identify hazards before an issue occurs
• Back up other Safety Reps and fill in for other employees who are out on vacation or leave, or in other situations where an onsite safety presence is prudent
• Develop positive, professional relationships with field personnel, all levels of leadership, outside agencies, and the public
