We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Construction Safety Manager. This role is an integral part of our Environmental, Health, and Safety Department, providing vital support for safety inspections, project planning, employee training, and various safety and health services.
Responsibilities
- Champion a culture of safety with a focus on a Zero Injury initiative.
- Understand project schedules to identify and plan for risks effectively.
- Establish and nurture relationships at all levels, including project teams, regional leadership, peers in safety, and corporate staff.
- Create and manage action plans aimed at enhancing regional safety performance.
- Maintain a strong presence on job sites to ensure timely responses to safety questions or issues.
- Facilitate consistent communication and deliver on internal safety-related tasks promptly.
- Collaborate with Project Management teams on safety planning, including:
- Leading pre-construction safety meetings and contractor safety orientations.
- Conducting weekly site safety inspections and investigating accidents/incidents.
- Developing and implementing various safety programs and training initiatives.
- Providing safety expertise to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures across projects and regions.
- Reviewing contractor pre-qualifications and site-specific safety plans for compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Assisting in the creation, revision, and implementation of new policies and procedures related to safety.
- Ensuring emergency response procedures are established and efficiently managed.
- Analyzing safety data and producing reports to provide regulatory guidance and insights that align with corporate objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in construction safety.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Hands-on experience in conducting employee safety training.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
