- *Job Summary**
HSE Student supports HSE Officer, Ontario with the company health and safety measures, H&S and environmental compliance, PPE inventory, site assessments, reporting and other Health and safety related responsibilities.
- *Responsibilities**
Compliance
- Assist HSE Officer with H&S programs and methods developments / improvements
- Participate in safety audits conducted by IHSA, ISO and clients
- Support development of the new work procedures, site safety plans, return to work duties, address safety concerns with subcontractors, and other QHSE -related project-specific requirements as needed
- Help with other compliance reporting and documentation
Site Inspections
- Assist with site inspections to ensure compliance and CDB H&S Program
- Document and follow-up on non-compliances, accidents, incidents, near-misses, interventions, and any other QHSE-related events by completing and submitting paperwork
- Help with project’s safety management plans revisions
- Support emergency preparedness procedures
- Assist with incidents’ investigations
Employees H&S Training
- File records of the QHSE employees’ trainings, monitor expiration dates to ensure certifications stay current and valid
- Follow up with staff and/or trainers to obtain copies of certificates earned
Internal PPE ordering
- Support HSE officer with PPE inventory management, purchase orders, tracking.
Other duties and ad-hoc projects as required
