The role of the Security and Safety Coordinator at DCAC is critical in ensuring the safety, security, and operational readiness of the center's facilities. This position is housed within the Facilities Department and plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, partners, clients, and visitors. The Security and Safety Coordinator manages and monitors building security systems, including access control and video surveillance, ensuring continuous system functionality and proper staff access. They serve as a frontline presence by greeting visitors, enforcing security protocols, and controlling access points to protect the premises. The role also demands vigilant patrolling of the facility's perimeter, swift response to emergencies, and coordination with local law enforcement and security vendors.

In addition to security responsibilities, the coordinator provides vital support to facilities operations by assisting with event setups, driving the agency vehicle during special events, and participating in professional development and team supervision meetings. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and a readiness to respond to after-hours security incidents as part of the agency's Emergency Action Team.   • Minimum one year experience in security or building engineer role
  • Valid and clear driver’s license
  • Completion of de-escalation training within three months of hire
