We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead, implement, and continuously improve our company-wide safety program while supporting multiple active job sites.

Project Overview

The Safety Manager will oversee safety operations across all projects, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements. This role works closely with Operations, Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Management to promote accountability, hazard awareness, and continuous safety improvement. Experience in healthcare construction environments is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage FOKIS Mechanical’s company-wide safety program.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local/state requirements, and project-specific safety standards.
  • Conduct regular jobsite safety audits, inspections, and observations across multiple projects.
  • Support Superintendents and Foremen with daily safety planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and toolbox talks.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain and manage safety documentation, training records, and compliance tracking.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training (OSHA 10/30, site-specific orientations, and trade-specific training).
  • Support healthcare construction safety requirements, including ICRA, infection control, and occupied facility protocols.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Field Leadership to proactively address hazards and improve jobsite conditions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related communication with General Contractors and clients.
  • Track safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote and reinforce FOKIS Mechanical’s safety culture at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of construction safety experience, preferably in mechanical or plumbing trades.
  • Experience supporting multiple active job sites simultaneously.
  • Proven experience working directly with field leadership, including Superintendents and Foremen.

Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
  • Experience developing and enforcing company safety programs and policies.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare construction safety requirements, including ICRA and infection control practices.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and trade-specific hazards.

Skills

  • Bilingual English and Spanish both reading and writing is strongly desired
  • Ability to conduct effective safety audits, inspections, and field observations.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver safety training to field and office personnel.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and reporting skills.
  • Professional collaboration with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and General Contractors.
  • Ability to influence safety culture through leadership rather than enforcement alone.

Certifications (Required or Preferred)

  • OSHA 30 (Required or Preferred).
  • CPR / First Aid Certification.
  • CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certification (Preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • Reduction in recordable incidents and near misses.
  • Jobsite safety compliance and audit performance.
  • Completion and quality of safety training programs.
  • Timely incident reporting and corrective action closure.
  • Engagement of field leadership in safety planning and execution.
