Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our safety protocols at our US operations. Based in the United States, this role is vital in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering a safe working environment aligned with Heraeus's mission of making a positive difference.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide training and development programs on safety procedures such as OSHA standards, CPR, and first aid.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure adherence to relevant laws.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote occupational health initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety performance and improvement plans.
  • Stay updated on EPA regulations and incorporate best practices into operations.
  • EHS-related measurements and calculations for air emission, wastewater, industrial hygiene, and others as applicable.
  • Support Site Manager in obtaining new or revising existing EHS licenses, permits and/or authorizations if required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in environmental health and safety management within manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations, and workers' compensation law.
  • Certifications in first aid, CPR, or related safety training preferred.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership in training & development initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred.
