Safety Manager (Trucking Fleet Compliance and Driver Safety)

Podium Logistics Express is an asset-based trucking company located in Rincon, GA. We’re hiring an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety and compliance for our company fleet. This role is for someone who knows the FMCSA world, can coach drivers, manage incidents, and keep the fleet audit-ready at all times.

Compensation

Compensation includes a competitive salary plus a commission structure that is dependent upon experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Own

Fleet Safety Program Leadership

• Build, implement, and enforce driver safety policies, procedures, and fleet safety initiatives
• Maintain consistent safety standards across the fleet and ensure company-wide adherence to FMCSA regulations

Compliance Management

• Manage DOT compliance items including: medical cards, CDL/license status, MVR monitoring, DQ file maintenance, annual reviews, random drug and alcohol testing, and Hours of Service compliance
• Maintain accurate records and ensure we’re always inspection and audit ready
• Do random and scheduled inspections on power units

Incident Response and Investigations

• Lead accident/incident and near-miss investigations from start to finish
• Maintain accident logs, complete root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with Operations and Maintenance
• Support claims investigations related to vehicle incidents and cargo damage as applicable

Safety Data and Reporting

• Monitor safety trends and driver behavior using tools such as Samsara and Tenstreet
• Produce clear reporting, analytics, and safety presentations for leadership with action steps and measurable improvement plans

Training, Coaching, and Driver Accountability

• Deliver onboarding safety training and ongoing coaching for drivers and operations staff
• Run safety meetings (including mandatory semiannual sessions)
• Conduct safety reviews and disciplinary meetings when needed—firm, fair, and consistent

Field Assessment

• Conduct ride-alongs/road assessments as needed to evaluate performance and reinforce expectations
• Build strong relationships with drivers that result in safer decisions and better compliance

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years transportation safety experience focused on fleet safety and DOT compliance with a trucking company
• Strong working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, driver qualification requirements, HOS, drug/alcohol program requirements, and accident investigation best practices
• Ability to create analytics reports, communicate trends, and present to stakeholders
• Confident communicator who can coach drivers, hold standards, and document everything properly
• Strong organization and follow-through—this role touches a lot of critical deadlines

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record (CDL not required)
• Ability to travel as needed and occasionally work extended hours during incident response or audits
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet as needed in shop/yard environments
• Fluency in English
