Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Essential Duties and Tasks
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive suite of safety and environmental policies, procedures, and written programs, ensuring thorough documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor changes in federal, state, and local EHS regulations, making necessary adjustments to ensure adherence and effectiveness.
- Create and present engaging EHS training programs for employees at all levels to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship at all company facilities.
- Conduct and document regular EHS audits and inspections to maintain compliance with all applicable permits and regulations.
- Coordinate interactions with internal and external regulatory agencies, ensuring all environmental reports are completed and filed accurately and timely.
- Support corporate EHS initiatives and manage on-site assignments, projects, and processes effectively.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated team, responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, aligning with EHS protocols and environmental standards.
- Promote continuous improvement in EHS performance through regular evaluation of existing programs and collaboration with site managers.
- Analyze industry safety trends and data related to machinery and chemical exposures to develop strategic interventions, minimizing potential risks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are advantageous.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in a related field with demonstrated leadership in safety and environmental management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capability to engage with executives, staff, and external clients.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to analyze complex problems while presenting viable solutions.
- A polished professional who thrives in dynamic and challenging environments.
Work Environment
This role is primarily situated in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal health hazards. Personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety shoes, and eye protection may be required in manufacturing areas. Exposure to non-toxic odors from chemicals, airborne dust, mechanical movement, high noise levels, and humid conditions may occur.
