The Health and Safety (H&S) team is part of the Ethics, Compliance, and Security organization within Uber, in charge of making sure the company keeps employees safe and doing the right thing, period. The H&S team is responsible for ensuring the employees' safety and well-being are taken care of during the course of their employment.

The Health and Safety (H&S) team is part of the Ethics, Compliance, and Security organization within Uber, in charge of making sure the company keeps employees safe and doing the right thing, period. The H&S team is responsible for ensuring the employees' safety and well-being are taken care of during the course of their employment.
What You'll Do
- Lead programs and initiatives to reduce H&S incidents, manage H&S risks, and promote H&S compliance within the operational framework
- Implement H&S management systems, ensuring they meet the regional specifics while aligning with global objectives
- Serve as the primary H&S operational contact providing expertise and support to facility leaders to achieve H&S objectives
- Collaborate with H&S Delivery Specialists and other H&S professionals to develop and roll out region-specific H&S solutions that align with corporate standards
- Develop and maintain a strong network of H&S professionals across the regions, ensuring clear communication and the sharing of best practices
- Work with third-party FM providers on the implementation and adherence to Uber's global standards and expectations
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with the contractor's operations to ensure they adhere to Uber's standards and requirements
- Coordinate with People Operations and Human Resources on any Workplace accommodations.
- Bachelor's degree in safety management, environmental science, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an H&S role, preferably in the corporate sector
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and drive results in a complex organizational environment
- Prior experience in a tech environment
