With continued growth across our operations, we are seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager to lead and strengthen our quality and food safety programs across multiple facilities.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Nutrition & Quality, the FSQA Manager provides technical leadership, strategic direction, and daily support to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance team and technicians across all facilities. You will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust food safety and quality systems while serving as a key point of contact for customers, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a multi-shift FSQA team across multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve FSQA policies, programs, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable food and feed regulations and company standards
  • Establish and maintain controls to ensure the production of safe, consistent, high-quality products
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, including audits, complaints, pilot runs, new product launches, and specification changes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and profitability
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, R&D, and leadership to support business growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Animal Science, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a feed or food processing environment
  • Strong preference for experience in dry animal or pet food manufacturing
  • At least 5 years of management experience leading a multi-shift FSQA department
  • Deep understanding of analytical chemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology as applied to food/feed systems
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements, including FSMA, FDA, USDA-FSIS, and APHIS

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to:

  • Work around dust, noise, heat, and cold
  • Safely operate in areas with industrial machinery while following PPE and safety protocols
  • Walk, stand, climb, and reach on a continuous basis
  • Pass a job-related pre-employment physical and drug screening
