We are looking for a highly motivated Safety Manager, who is passionate about the construction process. This person will lead and support safety initiatives across multiple job sites. This role will work out of our Chicago, IL office and will serve as a key resource to ensure compliance with safety regulations, provide field trainings, and foster a culture of safety throughout the construction process in our self-perform electrical business. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator and collaborative problem-solver who thrives in dynamic field environments.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Establish annual safety goals and define measurable metrics; track progress and provide updates on a weekly, monthly, and or quarterly basis throughout the year.
- Perform regular jobsite safety inspections of work activities. Share findings, corrective actions, and plans with project teams.
- Manage, maintain, and schedule safety training courses for all associates (e.g., OSHA10/30, NFPA 70E, CPR, MEWP, Forklift, Rigging & Signaling, Confined Space) in Procore and "Core 4 Trainer" certification with United Rentals.
- Manage and track safety onboarding for new hires.
- Partner with the Claims Manager and leadership to ensure proper incident reporting, categorization, investigation, and application of lessons learned.
- Develop and maintain a Safety Program Manual tailored to the company’s scope of work.
- Administer PPE program including selection, procurement, training, and usage tracking.
- Responsible for managing safety on multiple construction sites across the U.S., including travel to projects for inspections, incident investigations and to maintain visibility and leadership in the field.
- Responsible for developing Site specific safety plans, fall protection plans, PTPs, JSA/JHAs, etc.
- Lead monthly Safety Champion calls with foremen to review incidents, discuss safety planning, and share lessons learned.
- Oversee the Safe Foreman Award Program, tracking completion of toolbox talks, equipment inspections, site planning, and safety call attendance.
- Administrative functions such as maintaining safety files and documentation, safety training matrix, investigation reports, jobsite and classroom training, and safety metric/trend analysis.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years' of Construction Safety and Health Experience preferred or electrical safety equivalent.
- Manufacturing/Data Center experience considered a plus.
- BS in Occupational Health and Safety or closely related field desired
- CHST, CSP or similar certification(s) preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
- OSHA 500/510 certification a plus
- Competent person, Forklift and MEWP (aerial lifts) instructor training is desirable. Must be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Travel to construction project sites approximately 3 days/week (Monday - Friday) Nationwide, including outside of standard business hours and out of state travel as required and needed.
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver license in your state of residence
- Proficient using a Computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
