Join our team as a Traveling Safety Manager where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Staff and Concrete Strategies safety team. Your mission will be to enforce corporate safety and health standards while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
We are looking for someone dedicated to fostering a zero-injury safety culture across all projects. Your contributions will range from performing weekly jobsite safety inspections to providing orientations for new project employees, aiding in subcontractor safety analyses, and promoting proactive safety measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and enhancing the project safety program.
- Conduct jobsite orientations for new project employees, tracking their participation and issuing completion identification.
- Facilitate initial meetings with project staff and subcontractor representatives to define anticipated roles within the safety program.
- Conduct pre-planning safety meetings with subcontractor representatives to outline safety procedures.
- Hold regular weekly safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and project staff ensuring compliance.
- Provide safety training for site personnel aligning with OSHA and Concrete Strategies standards.
- Maintain a log of subcontractor toolbox safety meetings.
- Review subcontractor safety programs, ensuring they align with project requirements.
- Designate safety representatives for subcontractors that are trained and have the authority to address safety issues.
- Perform daily and weekly jobsite safety inspections and document findings, noting any violations or required corrective actions.
- Promptly report and document unsafe practices to subcontractors for immediate remediation.
- Intervene immediately to stop any unsafe acts or practices.
- Support the Project Superintendent in establishing fire prevention, evacuation, and fire control protocols.
- Investigate incidents accurately and generate comprehensive reports.
- Keep all necessary safety records up-to-date.
- Conduct monthly overview safety meetings and participate in project staff meetings to discuss safety issues.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- A minimum of 3 years of safety experience or a combination of education and extensive experience in building construction.
- Solid understanding of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
- OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation is required.
- OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer certification is advantageous.
- Proficient computer skills with an understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
