Associate, EHS Specialist

Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Position Summary
The Associate, EHS Specialist supports environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs in a manufacturing environment to help ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Reporting to the Manager, EHS & Facility Operations, this role supports site-specific safety policies and procedures, coordinates training, assists with inspections, and helps promote a proactive safety culture at the site level.
Compensation & Benefits
● $27 to $32 an hour (depending on level of experience)

What You'll Do
● Deliver site-specific safety training programs, including new hire orientation and refresher courses.
● Ensure local employee compliance with safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of safety equipment.
● Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure adherence to EHS standards.
● Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and injuries, assisting with root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
● Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, training, and compliance documentation.
● Coordinate and support local emergency response plans and safety drills.
● Collaborate with supervisors, employees, and the Manager, EHS & Facility Operations to promote and maintain a safety-first culture.
● Assist with preparation for internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
● Coordinate and participate in safety committee meetings and communications.
● Track and report safety metrics to the Manager, EHS & Facility Operations, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
● Participate in site-specific projects related to environmental compliance and risk management.
● Provide support with maintenance-related activities, including troubleshooting and resolving facility issues, to help ensure a safe and efficient work environment
● Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager, EHS & Facility Operations
Required Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent required.
● 1-3 years of safety conscious work environment with active hazard awareness preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
● Understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills to train and engage site employees.
● Ability to perform thorough inspections and identify hazards.
● Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills.
● Proficient in Google Suite or related software.
● Ability to work independently on-site while coordinating closely with the EHS Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
● College or technical training in safety or environmental fields
● OSHA 10 or 30-hour training
● Basic knowledge of environmental or safety management systems
Physical Requirements
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
● Frequent use of hands and fingers for inspections, training materials, and hands-on tasks.
● Ability to stand, walk, and move about the site regularly, including climbing stairs or ladders as needed.
● Visual acuity to inspect equipment and read documentation.
● Willingness and ability to get hands dirty when required to address safety or facility issues directly.
