Job Description

Freese and Nichols is currently seeking an experienced Risk and Safety Manager in San Antonio, Fort Worth, Houston, or Austin, TX. As the Risk and Safety Manager

you will lead our corporate health and safety program. You will provide expert guidance to leaders across the organization on a broad and evolving array of topics to ensure the health and safety of FNI employees. You will craft strategy, spearhead safety initiatives, and serve as a resource for our technical groups.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage a significant portion of the organization's risk management and/or risk control strategies and processes, including policy development, risk assessment, risk appetite evaluation, training, and tactical risk modeling.

Demonstrate managerial courage by making difficult decisions, leading change, following company policies, and holding staff accountable to ensure team alignment and engagement.

Design and oversee health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, protect employee well-being, and minimize business risk through training, audits, and performance evaluation.

Coordinate emergency management activities across the organization and serve as a resource and advisor on emergency preparedness and response.

Oversee administration of insurance policy renewals to ensure appropriate pricing, service standards, and coordination of professional and non-professional liability risk mitigation.

Coordinate physical security strategies, monitor risks to employees, and recommend appropriate prevention and mitigation measures.

Serve as a trusted business partner to internal clients by managing relationships and deploying appropriate resources to support business objectives.

Manage non-professional liability claims strategies, including tracking, investigation, coordination with carriers, and issue escalation.

Develop training courses to meet specific business requirements and performance needs. Support personal transformations by running complex leadership development programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field

6+ years' of experience in Risk and Safety

3+ years of experience managing risk and safety resources, programs, and initiatives to meet organizational objectives

Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals)

Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, including 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction)
