Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Safety Coordinator based in University, FL. The Safety Coordinator will oversee safety protocols, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and conduct regular safety inspections across campus. Responsibilities include developing and updating safety policies, organizing safety training programs, managing emergency response plans, and investigating incidents to prevent future occurrences. Effective communication with staff, students, and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety is essential in this position.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols, compliance standards, and emergency response planning
- Experience in conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and ensuring regulatory adherence
- Effective communication skills to provide training, collaborate, and promote safety awareness
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and safety policy development
- Organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage safety procedures and respond to challenges efficiently
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA or NEBOSH are strongly preferred
- Experience in a university or academic setting is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field
