The role of Safety, Security, and Compliance Manager at Menzies Aviation is a pivotal leadership position responsible for upholding the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and training within its base operations. This role ensures the successful implementation of corporate safety programs and regulatory compliance in accordance with local, state, and federal laws. The manager acts as a key assistant to the General Manager, taking charge in their absence and providing operational oversight to promote a secure and efficient workplace.
Key responsibilities include managing Safety Policies and Procedures (SSP), conducting on-site safety audits and inspections, leading investigations into accidents and incidents, and administering comprehensive training programs for ramp and fueling operations. The role involves preparing reports, analyzing safety trends, and recommending corrective actions to senior management to mitigate risks and enhance operational safety. The Safety, Security, and Compliance Manager also oversees the Workers’ Compensation Program and coordinates safety communication across all levels of the base staff.
In addition to compliance and safety management, the role involves planning and delivering training sessions covering areas such as new employee orientation, on-the-job training, safety refreshers, and regulatory updates. The manager must be able to evaluate trainers’ effectiveness, maintain meticulous training records, and act as a primary liaison for field personnel. They will also participate in internal and external audits, ensuring continuous improvement of safety protocols and training effectiveness.
