Armed Public Safety Officer | Certified Law Enforcement

Join a dedicated healthcare security team in the Midwest region, where your role as an Armed Public Safety Officer is vital to maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This position involves routine surveillance of healthcare properties, including foot and vehicle patrols, responding promptly to calls for service, and managing situations with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of grounds and buildings to ensure safety and security.
• Respond to incidents and potential disturbances, employing de-escalation techniques to control or eliminate threats.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily activities, incident reports, and shift logs.
• Communicate effectively with management and departments regarding safety concerns and emergency situations.
• Assist with parking management and enforce policies as directed.
• Respect confidentiality and demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to security duties.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required. Graduation from a Law Enforcement Academy is mandatory.

Experience

At least one year of road experience as a Patrol Officer or four years of active law enforcement detention experience is required.

Certifications and Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Must be a commissioned law enforcement officer in good standing or have held a valid commission within the past three years, with the ability to obtain commission within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, interpret policies, and operate patrol vehicles safely. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, including navigating stairs and long corridors.

This role involves exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, and potential contact with infectious diseases. Officers may encounter aggressive or abusive individuals and must maintain composure and professionalism at all times.
