Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Project Safety Manager to lead health and safety initiatives on-site. As the Construction Project Safety Manager, you will serve as a vital link between field operations and corporate leadership, ensuring every team member returns home safely. responsibilities
- Safety Leadership: Lead the implementation of the corporate Safety & Health Program in close coordination with the project Superintendent.
- Site Inspections: Conduct daily visual and formal written jobsite inspections, including JHA reviews and environmental control monitoring.
- Personnel Training: Manage site-specific safety orientations for all new employees and lead weekly safety talks to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Emergency Planning: Develop site-specific emergency plans and coordinate with local fire departments, medical clinics, and emergency services.
- Regulatory Reporting: Complete monthly safety reports covering fire extinguishers, GFCI inspections, trenching, and confined space permits.
Requirements
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to provide safety leadership and support to project teams in a construction or industrial setting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of safety and health policies, including standards for trenching, scaffolding, and fall protection.
- Technical Proficiency: Skill in identifying permit-required confined spaces and operating safety equipment such as 4-gas monitors.
- Administrative Skills: Ability to maintain detailed job safety records, investigate incidents, and generate comprehensive incident reports.
- Communication Skills: Interpersonal skills to hold employees accountable to policies and facilitate pre-planning meetings with subcontractors.
The essential functions of this role include
