Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining policies, programs, and compliance related to environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role ensures a safe working environment by conducting training, audits, hazard analysis, and maintaining compliance with ISO standards and all applicable laws.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and programs
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS laws and regulations
- Maintain EHS recordkeeping and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Administer the Workers’ Compensation program and maintain accurate tracking
- Serve as the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Representative
- Maintain EHS documentation for ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and corporate requirements
- Coordinate and participate in ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements
- Conduct and document EHS-related training, including new hire orientation
- Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and disposal
- Lead safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and emergency response training
- Coordinate EHS committee meetings and participate in audits and compliance reviews
- Respond to and track EHS-related complaints, incidents, and action plans
- Collaborate on the development of new processes from an EHS perspective
- Track EHS metrics for continuous improvement and injury prevention
- Conduct post-incident drug and alcohol screenings as required
- Select and manage EHS supplies including personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Coordinate agency inspections and ensure compliance documentation is up to date
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Advise managers on potential risks related to safety, compliance, or quality
- Take action to prevent or correct nonconformities in processes or systems
- Identify and escalate EHS problems through the proper channels
- Verify the implementation of corrective actions
- Control further operations of noncompliant activities until resolved
Position Requirements
- Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with ISO 14001 and industrial ergonomics
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and Workers’ Compensation practices
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
