Health, Safety & Environment Advisor,
the Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator - Manufacturing
is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs across the organization. This role ensures compliance with relevant legislation and regulations while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the company.
In collaboration with the Senior Advisor, develops and maintains HSE policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
Conducts regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinates and delivers HSE training programs to employees at all levels, including onboarding, toolbox talks, and specialized safety courses.
Maintains detailed records of incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions for regulatory reporting and organizational learning.
Collaborates with management and employees to develop and promote a positive safety culture that encourages hazard reporting and continuous improvement.
Serves as a point of contact for HSE concerns and provides guidance on safety-related questions and procedures.
Prepares HSE reports and statistics for management review, highlighting trends and recommending improvements.
Maintains compliance with environmental regulations and assists in waste management, emissions monitoring, and sustainability initiatives.
A combination of related education and 1-3 years of HSE experience in Ontario manufacturing environments.
Experience with HSE management systems and Ontario regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
Experience with HSE software systems and data analytics.
Hours of Work
: Monday to Friday, 44 hours per week
Travel
: Travel within the Niagara region
Manufacturing Environment
Other
: Occasional evenings or weekend work may be necessary for incident response, Ministry of Labour inspections, or project deadlines.
