The Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all safety and security programs within the facility. This role plays a critical part in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and proactively minimizing risks to employees and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with plant employees, supervisors, and leadership to promote a culture of safety and safe work practices. Develop, implement, and maintain facility-wide safety and security policies and procedures in collaboration with management. Execute safety initiatives and programs that ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. Deliver safety and health training, coaching, and instruction to ensure compliance with all applicable occupational safety and health regulations. Evaluate and enhance current safety training programs through ongoing review and recommended improvements. Provide expert guidance on emergency preparedness, risk management, accident prevention, and general workplace safety. Authorize the stoppage of operations or activities deemed unsafe to personnel or equipment. Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, prepare documentation, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Monitor safety performance data, identify trends, and lead structured problem-solving efforts to resolve recurring safety issues. Promote employee engagement in safety through coaching, positive reinforcement, and behavior-based safety programs. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, and standards. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 4 years of occupational health and/or safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Proven experience in inspections, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and safety training. Excellent attention to detail and high standards for accuracy. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards. Ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
