**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Act as the Integrated Care Solution (ICS) IPAC and Health & Safety liaison during the development and implementation of NDC Clinical Quality and Corporate Health & Safety policies, processes, standards and education
- Drive execution of IPAC and Health and Safety initiatives across ICS in line with Bayshore’s Clinical Quality and Corporate Health and Safety teams.
- Liaise with various Public Health Units, Hospital IPAC teams and Clinical Managers to assess, identify and implement corrective actions required to overcome potential deficiencies.
- Support Clinical Managers during outbreaks, ensuring control measures are in place to prevent further spread.
- Conduct in-person IPAC assessments in collaboration with the National IPAC Lead
- Provide IPAC and Health & Safety education and training to ICS Clinical Managers when required
Work with the various Joint Health and Safety Committees to identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and assist in the implementation of appropriate measures for risk mitigation.
Job Qualification
- *Education**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training & experience in occupational health and safety.
- IPAC certification from an accredited program.
- *Experience**
- Minimum of 5 years’ Health & Safety experience in a healthcare environment
- *Other Skills and Abilities**
- JHSC (Joint Health and Safety Committee) Accreditation (Level I and II)
- First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Knowledgeable in infection control practices, microbiology, infectious diseases, epidemiology, and statistical analysis
- Motivated self-starter with initiative and strong project management, organizational, problem
- solving and coaching skills
- Proven leadership, team building and collaborative communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in settings of outbreaks or new risks to identify and access most appropriate expert resources and mobilize interdisciplinary response
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and teams to integrate knowledge into clinical
- Practice
- Demonstrates the ability to articulate infection control problems and solutions to all levels of the organization, and to external agencies and stakeholders
- Ability to travel to conduct onsite audits
- Must have valid criminal background check / vulnerable sector screening
- *REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**
The IPAC Health and Safety Manager reports to the Regional Director, Operations as appropriate
- *STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE**
The IPAC Health and Safety Manager must demonstrate ongoing competency in completing all
duties and responsibilities of this job description, in response to changes by the regulating body, as well as
agreed upon specific goals and objectives.
- *PERFORMANCE REVIEW**
Performance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with a formal review at the end of the six months
probationary period and subsequently, on at least an annual basis. Input will be sought from employees,
Supervisor, Branch office and Field employees, and in addition, will be based on ongoing client feedback
and the extent to which performance meets expectations.
