Job Description

Galliford Try is seeking a committed Regional Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our Specialist Services team. This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects and make a positive impact on health, safety, and environmental practices across multiple sites.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture in alignment with Galliford Try's values.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to address health, safety, and environmental issues affecting projects.
  • Support the pre-construction meetings by providing insights on reducing health, safety, and environmental risks.
  • Assist in the pre-qualification of subcontractors via the company onboarding system.
  • Conduct 'Pre-Start' meetings for high-risk activities, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Participate in identifying project risks and help develop Construction Phase Plans and relevant documentation.
  • Provide expert guidance to management on implementing health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
  • Conduct regular SSER inspections and report findings, ensuring compliance with management and statutory regulations.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and collaborate with relevant authorities to enhance workplace safety.
  • Generate monthly working hour statistics and report on health and safety metrics.
  • Deliver training and manage health, safety, and environmental aspects of induction processes.
  • Act as a key resource for multiple business units, ensuring the consistent application of health, safety, and environmental standards across operations.

About You

  • Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities and effective communication skills.
  • Relevant experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within a similar industry.
  • NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate, and membership with IOSH or IIRSM.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and health, safety, and environmental management databases.
  • A flexible, proactive attitude with strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • A full driver's license and willingness to travel to support various projects.
