Join Our Team as a Safety and Health Project Coordinator!
Are you passionate about ensuring safety and health at construction sites? We are looking for a full-time Safety and Health Project Coordinator to support our various market sectors. This role involves traveling to project sites across the United States.
In this vital position, you will proactively manage safety and health concerns specific to each project, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protecting employees, contractors, clients, and the public. Your expertise will drive safety initiatives and foster a culture of awareness and responsibility.
Your responsibilities will include
- Conduct Initial Safety Audit & Establish Inspection Schedule: Within 15 days of project mobilization, collaborate with the project superintendent to carry out an initial site safety audit and establish a comprehensive site inspection schedule tailored to project size and hazard exposure.
- Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards: Assist the project superintendent in enforcing the Haskell Code of Safe Practices and ensure that all site personnel complete safety orientation and that safety documentation is easily accessible.
- Support Safety Administration & Reporting: Participate in administrative safety tasks, conduct accident investigations, maintain recordkeeping, and ensure compliance with corporate policies, including safety inspections and corrective action audits.
- Implement Training & Hazard Mitigation: Develop and lead engaging, project-specific on-site safety training sessions while identifying potential hazards and coordinating timely corrective actions.
- Communicate & Report Safety Concerns: Regularly update the Manager of Safety on project issues and complete a Safety Evaluation Report (SER) every six weeks. Be an active participant in kickoff, designing-for-safety, and pre-construction meetings.
- Enforce Safety Policies & Investigate Incidents: Uphold safety rules and disciplinary action, conduct thorough accident investigations, and collaborate with the project superintendent for timely incident reporting.
To thrive in this role, you'll need
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in the construction industry
- Completion of OSHA Course #500
- A strong understanding of federal, state, local, and corporate regulations
- The ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective measures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift 10-50 pounds
- Good hand-eye coordination with the dexterity required to operate equipment
- Ability to frequently sit, reach, talk, and hear as part of the role
