**HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER**
- Full-time permanent hybrid role: Thunder Bay, Timmins or Hearst, ON_
- *Role**:The Health and Safety Manager will lead Pepco’s behavior based safety culture by implementing a company wide safety program throughout 5 locations in Northern Ontario and 1 in Quebec. The HS Manager must demonstrate strength in change management, striking a balance between documentation and boots on the ground implementation, coaching, and maintainable projects.

- *PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- *Safety Program**: Direct a corporate health and safety management system and compliance program that focuses on a tangible safety culture that is imbedded in day-to-day actions.
- *Coaching and Training**: Design, educate and train each department in the execution of the safety program. Facilitate numerous training programs. Provide on-going coaching and guidance to management on their responsibilities with respect to applicable legislative and corporate requirements.
- *Compliance Tracking and Documentation**:Complete safety audits at all locations. Monitor status of actions to address. Help identify and remove barriers to completion. Perform job safety analysis and assists the operations team in developing safe job procedures (SJP). Participate in the development of policies, practices, and procedures. Modify and implement compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems.
- *Regulatory Requirements**: Ensure compliance with safety programs that meet federal, provincial, and local regulatory requirements. Provide technical and regulatory input on new projects and ad hoc sales for any safety concerns with the Directors.
- *Investigations**:Support site management to facilitate incident/accident investigations and risk assessment to identify root-cause corrective actions. Assertively manage post-incident matters and reporting including early and safe return to work initiatives and WSIB/CNESST cases.
- *Safety Performance**:Provide analysis and interpretation of health and safety performance indicators to support effective decision making.
- *IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- **Location**: Must live in Thunder Bay, ON, Timmins, ON, or Hearst, ON.
- **Hybrid role and travel requirements**: Divide hours between home office (60%) and in-office rotation between all locations (40%).
- **Education**:Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Industrial Management, or related field required.
- **Licenses and Certifications**: Valid G driver’s license required. Actively working towards or possessing a professional health and safety designation (i.e., CHSC, CRST).
- **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of progressive health and safety experience in a distribution, manufacturing, logistics, trucking, and/or oil and gas industry. 3+ years of experience in multi-location responsibility preferred.
- **Language**:Bilingual French and English, written and spoken.
- **Technology**: Advanced experience in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- **Additional skills**:Courage over comfort by doing what’s right not what is easy. Process and priority management. Keeping a cool head in a crisis and problem solving on their feet. Known for their excellent presentation skills. Action orientated. Collaborative attitude. Curious and believes in continuously learning.
