Construction Safety Coordinator Job Description
Role Overview
This Construction Safety Coordinator will be responsible for supporting field operations and ensuring adherence to OSHA and internal safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety programs, protocols, and documentation, including SOPs
- Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for field and office personnel
- Evaluate job sites for safety compliance and identify deficiencies or areas for improvement
- Monitor ongoing field activities to ensure adherence to OSHA, state, and local regulations
- Collaborate with site supervisors and project managers to promote safe work practices
- Perform regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain safety records and reports; compile and analyze safety performance data
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred OR hands-on construction experience with OSHA 30 certification
- Ability to identify hazards and act decisively in the field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of working with field teams and leadership
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in dynamic environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort writing safety documentation and procedures
