Construction Safety Coordinator Job Description

Role Overview

This Construction Safety Coordinator will be responsible for supporting field operations and ensuring adherence to OSHA and internal safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety programs, protocols, and documentation, including SOPs
  • Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for field and office personnel
  • Evaluate job sites for safety compliance and identify deficiencies or areas for improvement
  • Monitor ongoing field activities to ensure adherence to OSHA, state, and local regulations
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and project managers to promote safe work practices
  • Perform regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain safety records and reports; compile and analyze safety performance data

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred OR hands-on construction experience with OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to identify hazards and act decisively in the field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of working with field teams and leadership
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in dynamic environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort writing safety documentation and procedures
