This position reports directly to the Safety Manager.**

  • *WHAT YOU WILL DO**
  • Represent the General / Prime Contractor’s H&S program and accountabilities for contractors in the workplace.
  • Able to lead a team of 10 health and safety field advisors.
  • Coordinate H&S contractor safety meetings and Worker Trades Committee meetings.
  • Liaison with customers, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Review contractor pre-hazard assessment plans.
  • Develop and report key performance indicators to project leaders.
  • Oversee incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate site inspections and communicate mitigation requirements.
  • Prepare and communicate H&S safety bulletins.
  • Maintain H&S records and documents for the project.
  • Enforce H&S compliance for the workplace in accordance with the OHSA and the General / Prime Contractor’s regulations/requirements.
  • *WHAT YOU NEED**
  • Knowledgeable of Ontario Construction Regulations.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a construction H&S manager or lead coordinator.
  • NCSO, H&S Gold Seal, or CRSP designations are an asset.
  • Must have “Working at Heights”, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry Awareness, and Elevated Work Platform training and experience.
  • Experience with demolition and heavy equipment.
  • Working experience with electrical (Z-462) and energy isolation H&S.
  • Knowledgeable of cranes, hoisting and rigging, steel erection, and hot work.
  • Knowledgeable of industrial hygiene best practices.
  • Must be able to problem solve and advise ensuring compliance with the OHSA Construction Regulations and Industrial Establishments.
  • Automotive and demolition experience is an asset.
