Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position demands an individual who is a flexible and creative problem solver, has superb organizational and writing skills, and can work under minimal supervision. This position will require you to be on-call (Rotating Weekends)

The purpose of this position is to maintain responsibility for vehicle safety and Quality Assurance of services with Aacres Nevada. The Safety QA Coordinator will provide leadership and quality assurance for services to ensure that Aacres Mission and Values are carried out on a consistent basis.

This position will manage operational issues relating to program vehicles to ensure that Aacres Nevada, LLC is delivering quality service in a safe, efficient and compliant manner. Includes driver and vehicle performance management and compliance, new driver and on-going driver compliance training. Safety and security of Aacres Nevada transportation vehicles, risk management/QA aspects of both residential and transportation services.

Responsible for ensuring that all required reports related to drivers, safety, security and training are accurate and are submitted in a timely manner. Ensures compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations as well as contractual requirements. Responsible for ensuring all Drivers are properly trained and retrained in a timely manner and vehicles are maintained according to RTC specifications and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Acceptable background clearance
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass DOT physical exam and on-going random selection drug screening.
  • Ability to pass company sponsored Defensive Driving Program
  • Must complete passenger sensitivity training
  • Must possess physical agility necessary to assist a variety of passengers.
  • 1 Year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities highly preferred
  • Hold a valid Nevada Driver's License
  • No more than 3 moving violations/or chargeable accidents with in the most recent 3 year period.
  • Have an acceptable work history and 3 professional employment references
  • Be flexible in work schedule including weekends and evenings
  • The ability to lift or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to perform repetitive body movements to operate controls
  • The ability to work independently with a minimum of breaks
  • Operate wheelchair lifts / scooters and secure equipment of passengers in accordance with ADA.
  • Assist disabled passengers in boarding, riding and alighting the vehicle in a safe manner.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

1 College degree (preferred), or a minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

2 Two year's demonstrated ability effectively supervising at least 10-15 staff and maintaining quality services preferred

3 Must have or obtain ALL required OSHA and Transportation certificates within 12 months of accepting position.

4 Proficiency in MS Word and Excel a plus

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Include the following & other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervision of Emergency Kits in the residential homes (supply and inventory)
  • Supervision of Emergency Kits in transportation vehicles and residential vehicles.
  • Supervision of Fire Extinguishers and smoke detectors for Transportation and Residential Programs.
  • Conduct Emergency evacuation drills every 6 months at Main office and Transportation Office.
  • Oversight of Gas cards, vehicle maintenance and safety check, smog, insurance requirements, driver safety program and driver alerts.
  • Monthly Safety training for Drivers, Program Supervisors and Coordinators.
  • Incident reporting for vehicle and employee injury.
  • Worker's Comp training and compliance of Drivers, Program Supervisors and Coordinators.
  • Monitor Drug test reporting and recording.
  • Data base maintenance for Transportation Drivers and safety meetings.
  • Cleanliness and maintenance follow up of vehicles including GPS devices and other electronic devices
  • Maintain all vehicle keys and ensure safety and security of vehicles.

Environment

  • Provide support and supervision as identified to the driver from the Transportation Program Manager and completed Training requirements.

Operational

● Ensure employees are held accountable for their performance and for obtaining direction and support as needed. Formal or informal corrective action in conjunction with the Transportation Program Manager.

● Ensure all personnel practices are in line with affirmative action guidelines and other policies established within the Personnel Policies Manual.

● Monitor and maintain files for employee training requirements.

Financial Oversight

● Oversight of vehicle refueling.

● Ensure vehicles are maintained and refueled within fuel maintenance guidelines.

● Maintain program operation within established financial goals.

Growth & Development

● Develop and maintain partnerships and effective ongoing communication with contracting entities and team members in order to promote quality services and customer satisfaction.
