- *Position Purpose**
The Communications and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating engagement and communication plans that align with ACSA's goals, strategies and values. This role coordinates the development of materials, resources and various tactics for campaigns, events and other initiatives. Within the communications team, your duties will be diverse and multi-faceted, building on communication best practices to advance ACSA's engagement priorities.
- *Duties and Responsibilities**
- Coordinate the implementation and evaluation of engagement and communication plans, measuring and sharing results, recommendations, and lessons learned.
- Craft engaging copy for various tactics and coordinate materials and resource development for campaigns, events and other initiatives.
- Approach projects with avid curiosity to understand member and stakeholder needs, challenges, and opportunities. Analyze various inputs and recommend tailored ways to reach and engage stakeholders and improve ACSA programs, services, and initiatives.
- Provide team support by assisting the strategic function, coordinating research activities, and preparing reports and presentations.
- Ensure adherence to branding guidelines, representing Your ACSA's brand consistently and professionally while demonstrating integrity, honesty, and respect in all interactions.
- Stay informed with the latest research, news, tools, and industry trends to support the team.
- Attend assigned industry events, reporting on the observations and outcomes of partnership activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- *Qualifications**
- ** Education**:
- Post-secondary degree and/or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- Working towards obtaining an IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) Certificate is considered an asset.
- ** Experience**:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or relevant research roles.
- ** Required Skills and Abilities**:
- Skilled in developing, executing, and evaluating successful engagement and communication plans.
- Proficient in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to measure performance, identify trends, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
- Effectively collaborates with various stakeholders within the organization, leveraging communication and cooperation to drive positive outcomes.
- Ability to work independently as a strong and contributing member in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excels at creative thinking and problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital communication platforms.
- *Logistics**
- This position requires a 40-hour work week.
- This role is eligible for a hybrid work model (ACSA Edmonton office) three months after the start date.
- Some travel, evening, and weekend work will be required based on business events such as conferences and workshops.
- This role reports to the Manager of Corporate Communications and is under the direction of the Engagement and Special Projects Lead.
