Safety Manager Job Description

The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors, protecting the environment, and maintaining compliance with national and local regulations for a manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Implement and conduct safety training programs.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead risk assessments and external safety audits.
• Maintain records of safety violations and OSHA cases.
• Administer the chemical safety program.
• Assist with monitoring and reviewing manufacturing compliance.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety & Environmental Engineering/Science or a related discipline.
• 5 years of experience or a combination of education, training, and experience.
• OSHA certification.
• RCRA/DOT certification for handling hazardous waste.
