Reports to : General Manager

Team size : 12 in H&S team

Core responsibilities

Oversight of Health & Safety activities large producing mine site

Provide site leadership with ongoing safety performance updates

H&S Strategical thinking and leadership

Promote and lead a zero harm work culture

Coordinate risk management processes

Health & Safety training and assurance to site employees

Key stakeholder and regulatory body engagement

Incident investigation and corrective actions

Site emergency response, mine rescue, & firefighting systems / programs

Requirements

10+ years health & safety leadership experience in a mining environment

Health & Safety related qualifications

Familiar with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations

CRSP designation or actively working towards acquiring it

Knowledge of industrial hygiene

Both surface and underground mining experience preferrably
