Construction Safety Coordinator

We have partnered with our client seeking a Safety Coordinator in Des Moines!

Salary: $60k-$90k/ yr

Schedule: 7am-4pm Mon-Fri + OVT as needed

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Position: DIRECT HIRE

Duties of Safety Coordinator

• Manage the safety aspects of all projects in the Eastern Iowa area.
• Pre-construction planning as it pertains to Safety
• Conduct new hire orientation and distribute PPE
• Investigate all incidents
• Assist in site specific safety plans including JHAs
• Assist in assembling PowerPoints and managing foremen meetings
• Review and manage OSHA required training
• Participate in all internal Company meetings
• Site Specific Safety Plan & Site-Specific Erection Plan
• Project hand-off/kick-off with estimator, foremen, general superintendent & safety
• Weekly resource coordination meetings
• Post Project review meetings
• Communicate Project Safety needs between General Contractor & Office
• Communicate changing project safety requirements with superintendent and foreman
• Promote Company's Core Vision & Values within and outside the company
• Other duties as required to make Company successful

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CHST or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Commitment to safety and an injury free workplace
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Customer oriented and focused on team success
• Computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Bluebeam
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
