In Plant Safety Specialist

Our In-Plant Safety Specialist plays a crucial role in advocating safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and implementing preventative measures within our facilities. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure team members comply with all company policies and procedures and customer requirements.
• Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures.
• Follow directives regarding issues related to Safety, Health, and Environmental.
• Maintain regular communication with Site Manager, Safety, and Technical Services team.
• Report all accidents and first aid following established accident and first aid reporting SOP.
• Perform investigations at the plant level as needed including severe injuries, OSHA complaints, and when necessary to assist other departments.
• Ensure all investigations are followed up and an action plan is implemented successfully.
• Perform weekly safety audits, assist operations with corrective actions, and report findings by email to appropriate management.
• Exercise independent judgement and issue disciplinary action or terminate team members for safety violations.
• Complete on the job training including regularly scheduled and completed safety training, making improvements to safety awareness, training consistency, safety performance metrics, and knowledge of management and team members.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Bachelor's degree in safety related field or equivalent job experience.
