Job Duties and Responsibilities of EHS Manager
- Support leaders as a strategic HSE consultant, advising on compliance obligations from OSHA, EPA, DOT, and additional regulatory bodies.
- Create, enforce, and supervise safety, environmental, and risk management strategies that are designed to cater to the unique demands of the division.
- Organize safety committees and oversee safety training initiatives for both employees and managers.
- Carry out investigations into incidents, evaluate potential risks, and conduct job hazard analyses with a focus on documenting meticulously and executing corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards through managing permits, regulatory paperwork, and communication with regulatory entities.
- Examine safety statistics and data trends to pinpoint areas for improvement and propose actionable advice for process enhancements.
- Foster a culture that prioritizes safety and health by guiding leaders and staff members on the importance of adhering to policies and implementing best practices.
Qualifications and Experience of EHS Manager
- Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in Occupational/Environmental Health & Safety or a closely related discipline (a higher-level degree is recommended).
- - Must have at least eight years of practical involvement in standard health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols and procedures.
- Thorough familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines.
- Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA training is a prerequisite, in addition to holding certifications in First Aid/AED/CPR, Process Safety Management, and Arc Flash.
- CSP or equivalent HSE certifications, as well as Smith System Certification, are highly valued for this position.
- An unimpeded State-issued Driver’s License.
- Proficient in communication, cooperation, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities.
- Established track record in designing and executing HSE strategies and delivering evidence-based recommendations.
