Job Summary of Safety Manager

This role involves combining strategic alliances with active HSE management, overseeing programs that safeguard staff, reduce potential hazards, and guarantee adherence to regulations within the sector. Job Duties and Responsibilities of Safety Manager:

  • Act as a valuable HSE strategic ally for executives, offering advice on adhering to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory mandates.
  • Devise, execute, and oversee safety, environmental, and risk control initiatives customized to meet the specific requirements of the division.
  • Coordinate safety panels and conduct training sessions for staff and leadership to enhance safety measures.
  • Perform thorough examinations of incidents, evaluate risks, and analyze job hazards to maintain comprehensive documentation and implement prompt corrective measures.
  • Oversee adherence to environmental regulations by handling permits, regulatory documentation, and interactions with regulatory organizations.
  • Evaluate safety information and measurements to detect patterns and offer practical suggestions for enhancing processes.
  • Encourage a safe and supportive environment by coaching leaders and employees on following best practices and complying with policies to enhance overall well-being.

Qualifications and Experience of Safety Manager

  • A bachelor's degree in Occupational/Environmental Health & Safety or a related area is required (master's degree is advantageous).
  • - Requires a minimum of eight years of hands-on experience in conventional health, safety, and environmental (HSE) principles and methodologies.
  • Profound understanding of regulations set by OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • hour OSHA training is mandatory, along with possessing certifications in First Aid/AED/CPR, as well as Process Safety Management and Arc Flash.
  • Preferred certifications include CSP or other health, safety, and environment (HSE) credentials along with Smith System Certification.
  • A State Driver’s License that is legitimate and not limited in any way.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and analytical abilities are essential.
  • Demonstrated skill in creating and executing HSE initiatives while offering insights based on data analysis.
