**Health and Safety Manager**

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented **Health & Safety Manager** to join our team. As a **Health & Safety Manager**, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, developing, and implementing safety policies and procedures, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

  • *Location**:will be traveling between HDP Yards. Uxbridge Yard located at 7549 Lakeridge Road, Uxbridge L9P 1R3 and Singhampton located at 449724 10th Concession, Singhampton, Ontario N0C 1M0. The Health and Safety Manager will also be traveling to worksites for inspections.
  • *Responsibilities**:
  • Drive all aspects of Health and Safety with a hands-on approach within the field and office admin.
  • Coach and conduct site inspections, safety incidents, and infractions.
  • Proactively help identify/analyze, develop, and document hazard identification and practices.
  • Conduct and record regular and random site audits and ensure hazard assessments are done.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. Document, provide recommendations, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Oversee and effectively manage all aspects of WSIB claims management and modified duty/RTW programs.
  • Work with managers and employees to implement and improve effective health and safety processes.
  • Actively promote a safety culture/mindset through continuous communications, process improvement, relationship building, and organizational leadership.
  • Lead the Joint Health and Safety committee.
  • Facilitate onboarding, annual, and as-required employee training programs for health and safety purposes.
  • Maintain, learn, and uphold Health and Safety regulations, policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as MOL, WSIB, and safety organizations.
  • *Job Qualifications**:
  • Formal education in Occupational Health and Safety and risk management
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Health and Safety with 3-5 years’ experience in Telecom Construction.
  • First aid, CPR and any other relevant medical training
  • Flexible and willing to travel to sites and projects.
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines
  • Familiarity with terms and policies of the industry
  • problem-solver and critical-thinker
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence strategy and collaborate with company leadership
  • Comfortable multi-tasking, working under pressure, and managing tight timelines
  • Familiarity with project management and budgeting
  • Valid drivers’ license with a clean driver abstract is required.
