- **
- *Key Responsibilities**:
- Support the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems including procedures for inspection, investigation, hazard assessment and control, measurement, training, and other component elements in a diverse setting.
- Support the development and delivery of health, safety and environment programs for all levels within NAIT.
Develop relationships with school and department leaders to engage and support the integration of health and safety into their operational work and provide consultation services on emergent health and safety items to develop innovative and best fit solutions in a model of collaboration.
- Represent Health, Safety and Environment on safety committees.
- Conduct, support and/or facilitate incident investigations to determine causes, prevent recurrence and to communicate learnings.
- Support routine operations, maintenance teams, and project teams with safety pre-planning and execution of safety related tasks.
- Provide technical support on safety related issues for staff and contractors, through advice and recommendations on equipment, procedures and practices.
- Participate in the evaluation of Contractor Safety Management plans as part of Contractor Management process.
- Evaluation of new and existing equipment and processes to assist clients with the development of safe work procedures.
- Identify and communicate to schools and departments where non-compliance with applicable regulations and/or codes exist and facilitate corrective actions.
- Track monthly safety activities, relevant incident statistics and identify trends.
- *Qualifications**:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressively responsible experience in health and safety roles.
- Related experience working in a large diverse organization.
- Experience working with and implementing health and safety management systems is required.
- *Remuneration**:$2,717.63 - $3,600.28 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
