**Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor**

  • *Job Purpose**:

Reporting to the Manager, Environment, Health & Safety, the Environmental Health & Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the physical safety of our associates and contractors. This role requires a strong ability in identifying and resolving health and safety concerns fostering the safety culture of the company. Everyone has the right to get home safely.as safety is all OUR business.

  • *Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards as well as provincial legislation related to environmental & safety. Promote a culture in where health and safety is a value that will never be compromised.
  • Develop and facilitate health and safety training, as needed. Ensuring support and education to all employees and contractors on company environmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the HR on COVID-19 health and safety planning in the workplace according to local legislation.
  • Report to Leaders on company incidents including site hours, levels of the incident and other metrics by business unit.
  • Support operations and functional management in the achievement of corporate initiatives.
  • Conduct gap analysis and audit of health and safety programming; prepare reports and work plans prioritized based on risk to find solutions and efficiencies. Identify risks, trends in root cause and recommend controls. Perform regular health and safety audits and evaluations, gap analysis, inspections, and assessments.
  • Participate in or lead investigations to determine root cause and develop corrective actions as well as assist in the preparation of incident reports. Prepare reports on company incidents including H&S, WSIB, near miss by business unit/company.
  • Prepare, implement, and review project emergency response plans.
  • Participate in and provide leadership and guidance to Joint Health & Safety Committees across the varying TRCA locations.
  • Assist the company with Government Authority interactions including liaising with stakeholders.
  • Work with the Leadership team on strategy, performance, and continuous improvement for EHS Management.
  • Other tasks as assigned as deemed appropriate by management.
  • *Education and Experience**:
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or the Environmental field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health & safety
  • EP designation or willingness to acquire designation. CRSP and/or, CET professional designations are considered an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • *Specialized Skills**:
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal skills, organization abilities and proven attention to detail.
  • A high level of organizational skills including high flexibility to meet constantly changing demands of the workplace.
  • Working knowledge of WSIB claims management and safety inspection processes.
  • A passion for continual improvement of project EHS performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a positive and respective manner in EHS.
