Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety & Quality-Control Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, implementing safety programs, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. Quality control duties as required in

  • *Duties and Responsibilities**:
  • Implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention
  • Coordinate safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing training sessions
  • Collaborate with department managers to develop job-specific safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities
  • Filing of all H&S documentation and other filing as required
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and changes in safety regulations
  • *Job Requirements**:
  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Safety Coordinator or Safety Specialist
  • Safety certificates would be beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations and other relevant safety standards
  • Experience conducting safety inspections and accident investigations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities in all aspects of safety training and reporting
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Knowledge of lumber industry materials
  • Position requires indoor and outdoor tasks, in all weather conditions
