Under the guidelines of Engineering & Maintenance Capital Project management (ETS) and in accordance with Sanofi Manufacturing & Supply, Safety, Quality/performance, schedule, and costs objectives - the mission of this role is to plan, manage, and administer the Construction workstream for capital projects in accordance with safety, quality/performance, schedule, and cost objectives for projects at the Toronto site. The successful applicant will also be accountable, where assigned, to manage project construction safety as applicable to the construction phase of capital projects; including but not limited to; vendor compliance, ISN Support, Permits, Audits, Stakeholder Interface, Compliance, Orientation, Training, and Mentorship.

- *Main Responsibilities**:
- Lead execution of the Construction Management of various construction projects up to ~$7MCAD
- Deliver projects from the construction phase in accordance with safety, quality/performance, schedule, and cost.
- Accountable for the safety of the jobsite in collaboration with the end-to-end Project Manager/Director, Construction Manager or General Contractor, Subcontractors, and HSE department.
- Accountable to guide Engineering Leads under the Construction and Construction HSE Workstream in the selection of technologies for the building and utilities in accordance with global and site requirements.
- Collaboration with Process Engineering, C&Q, Validation, HSE, Operations and support functions to achieve deliverables.
- Accountable for management and reporting of risk and critical issues
- Responsible to provide updates through project reporting services including performance metrics in coordination with ETS & IA Global Engineering Guidelines.
- Manage Engineering Building, Utilities, and Process Equipment installation (internal & external) interfaces with E2E PM and highlight and action concerns with team performance.
- Represent the assigned Capital Project in various management committees as required.
- Facilitate the involvement of stakeholders on critical issues identified through risk analysis and general project management practices, resulting in documentation/planning/resolution of critical issues and risks.
- Challenge changes and mitigate risk of Construction Manager, Construction Sub-trade, Equipment OEM and Architect/Engineer “claims”.
- Anticipate and prepare the handover of the facilities, equipment, process control to the C&Q team.
- Utilize Best Practices to achieve the above - be it in existing guidelines or novel industry practices.
- Be capable for ad hoc support including leading specific tasks forces to achieve results in project execution (e.g. construction or commissioning and qualification).
- Lead Construction Safety Workstream under the Engineering and Technical Services umbrella, focusing on Capital Projects and supporting Technical Services activities. This program includes supporting creation of, or directly creating/maintaining/updating and Technical Documents
- Functionally manage project FTE within the workstream to deliver service to projects (all Tiers)
- Train or manage training of Sanofi Pasteur personnel on contractor safety requirements and HSE programs.
- Train or manage training of new contractors on Sanofi Pasteur Toronto procedures and requirements.
- Coordination of assigned permit procedures in accordance with HSE & ETS Guidelines, Standards, and Procedures.
- Support and/or lead inspections and audits of contractor safety compliance & performance to ensure compliance with company policy and applicable legislation. This role will also support applicable HSE lead audits (both internal and external).
- Support investigations, develop and implement corrective actions to address the root cause of the incidents/accidents, working to mitigate the possibility of a future re-occurrence.
- Act as a liaison with local AHJ’s as required.
