Director of Health and Safety

The Director of Health and Safety is responsible for leading the continuous improvement of health and safety management system at an integrated pulp and paper mill.

• Develop a safety strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Evaluate, investigate incidents to prevent injury.
• Maintain proactive safety programs including risk assessments, behaviour-based safety, near miss reporting.

Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety Engineering or related field. CRSP (Certified Registered Safety Professional) designation preferred. 10 years progressive experience in industrial health safety heavy manufacturing experience strongly preferable.

The candidate must have strong knowledge Ontario legislation regulations best practices demonstrate excellent leadership skills across entire organization report data identify trends recommend strategies for improvement lead emergency preparedness training work groups motivate staff resilience under pressure problem solving numerous situations communicate effectively lower upper management
