Safety & Compliance Supervisor

**Job Summary**

Reporting to the General Manager, the Compliance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, fire, and government regulations. You will also support the Health & Safety programs, training, and activities.

• *Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
• Provide technical assistance for environmental health regulations, environmental management systems, and projects
• Oversee environmental, fire and safety services to maintain efficient, effective, and consistent operating procedures.
• Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Develop plans, permits and procedures for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater
• Advise on the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents and non-conformances and making recommendations for corrective action.
• Support all Health & Safety functions including WSIB management
• Maintain Return to Work Program
• *Skills and Qualifications**
• College/University certificate/degree in Occupational Health and Safety (is an asset)
• 5 plus years of progressive leadership experience with knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance, Fire Code Standards
• Experience working with environmental agencies, MOE, MOL, and local city and fire
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows
• Must possess strong organizational and communication skills
