G.A. West & Co. is seeking a Safety Coordinator for a project in Apple Grove, WV. This assignment is expected to last 3+ years.

Responsibilities

· Lead in promoting company safety culture

· Monitor all safety issues and concerns, and ensure standards of safety are adhered to

· Verify all work is performed in compliance with company EH&S program and contract safety specifications

· Assist in the monitoring of subcontractor safety performance

· Conduct regular jobsite and work area inspections, noting safety violations and corrective actions

· Thoroughly investigate all incidents (including near miss, injury, property damage, general liability) immediately and perform root cause analysis

· Perform risk assessments and develop safety protocols

· Lead safety trainings and meetings

· Prepare and submit JSAs, investigative reports, reprimands, etc.

· Assist project teams in identifying hazards and implementing controls

· Immediately address safety violations at job site(s)

· Assist Project Superintendents in establishing, implementing, and monitoring jobsite emergency action plans.

· Work with Superintendents and Project Managers to obtain and manage required safety documents, signage, and equipment for all assigned job sites

· Verify all workers have the necessary training for the tasks they are performing.

· Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

· Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and 5 years of experience is preferred. A combination of knowledge and field experience will be considered.

· Must have an OSHA 30

· Must be willing to travel
