Position Overview

Join a dynamic team at RPO, a leading company in precision optics, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs. As an EHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for driving health and safety initiatives companywide, focusing on our manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and assess EHS-related information from various departments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Act as the primary contact for external agencies, including police and fire departments, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Support the creation, implementation, and enhancement of EHS procedures tailored to our manufacturing needs.
  • Coordinate and execute industrial hygiene monitoring to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Conduct regular facility audits to verify compliance with OSHA, EPA, NYS DEC, and other regulatory standards.
  • Maintain the OSHA 300 Log with accuracy and detail for both internal tracking and external reporting.
  • Oversee and follow up on EHS-related action items to ensure resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Organize annual EHS training sessions to educate and empower employees about safety practices.
  • Assist in the preparation and collection of EHS training documentation and records.
  • Identify areas for EHS program development to enhance workplace safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support EHS goals.

Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree in environmental health, occupational safety, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex documents and effectively responding to sensitive inquiries.
  • Strong mathematical skills to apply advanced concepts in practical situations.
