Traine Construction and Development (Traine) is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Safety/Administrator to join our exciting organization As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Site Superintendent, performing a wide variety of tasks in support of the construction project and onsite team. This position leads and embraces a safety-first mindset and promotes site-wide safety with the support of the team.

This is a construction site-based position in Kitchener, Ontario.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • Lead and perform site orientation of new employees and trade partners with the support of the site superintendents and foreman
  • Supervise, coordinate and document all on site safety activities, incidents, accidents, and first aid reports.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Enforce OH&S safety codes, regulations, and Traine safety policies while promoting a safety-first culture. Monitor compliance of policies and OHS legislation through direct observation on site
  • Daily and weekly site inspections. Document issues and follow up corrective actions
  • Liaise with Corporate Health and Safety manager and support their efforts at a site level
  • Act as first point of contact at the construction site for staff, contractors, and inspectors
  • Support the onsite Project Coordinator and Project Management team based out of head office in Kelowna
  • Manage all site documents including inspection records
  • Clean up and labour tasks as directed by site superintendents and foreman
  • *Qualifications and Experience**
  • Grade 12 or GED required.
  • Level 2 or level 3 First Aid Certificate
  • CSO/NCSO Certification considered a strong asset
  • Gold Seal Certification considered a strong asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs, Excel and Procore
  • Able to clearly communicate; written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and a safety-first mind set.
  • Driver’s license and transportation to site.
  • Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
  • PPE: Steel toe boots

You must be able to work on active fast-paced construction sites with daily walkthroughs and perform safety set ups and take downs as well as labour tasks. Prior experience in this type of work environment is preferred. Work will be indoors and outdoors throughout the year. Overtime and weekends may be required. Tuesday to Saturday shift may be required.

Wage Range: $28.85-33.65/hour
