Manage CBIA’s Survey Unit to provide organization-wide internal capability of conducting surveys, recruiting for focus groups, and data entry of research data. This includes managing the recruitment process for on-call Survey Staff, developing and administering interviewer training curriculum. Coordinate work activities of team of 10-20 on-call Survey Staff through scheduling, coaching & mentoring, monitoring and managing work. Ensure proper and accurate data collection used in evaluating various WSIB programs and initiatives through developing and conducting quality assurance processes. Participate in project planning for survey projects. Report on the administration of the unit and participate in the development of research plans and questionnaires. **Major Responsibilities**: 1. Manage a team of 10 -20 on call survey interviewers. Evaluate capacity and demand on the unit to ensure that the unit can meet primary research requirements from clientele and hire additional staff as needed to support research needs. - Initiate and manage the employer role in recruitments for additional staff - Develop job postings, screen applicants and conduct employee interviews to recruit on-call Survey Staff. - Administer interactive work samples, and hire applicants to ensure an adequate interviewing pool of on-call Survey Staff is maintained. - Develop and conduct training and other onboarding activities with all new Survey Staff. - Develop customized performance management templates to conduct ongoing and regular performance touch-points with survey unit staff. Conduct annual perforamance reviews for the purpose of renewal or termination of annual contracts. 2. Consult with clients, project leads, and/or Branch management to determine and develop interviewing requirements and cost projections. - Consult with the project lead and provide advice on the design aspects of the instrument as they relate to administration and delivery to respondents - Provide fielding and cost estimates for each survey project by assessing resource utilization - Develop a schedule for the fielding of surveys for each project - In collaboration with Finance partner, manage all cost-back financial processes with survey clients. - Plan, schedule and co-ordinate the conduct of survey field work including telephone interviews or other approved survey instruments. - Plan and co-ordinate the recruitment of focus groups to ensure participants meet criteria necessary to meet needs of the research; - Co-ordinate the data entry in support of internal primary research work. - Ensure health and safety protocols re adhered to by survey unit staff 4. Maintain and update quality control standards and procedures to ensure that the quality of interviews and data entry meet specified standards. - Track the progress of each survey by creating complex queries to track completion and response rates and by developing and producing reports from computerized interviewing systems and average/total cost and duration of interviews - Conduct quality checks to assess sample representativeness and response integrity by using statistical tools to generate preliminary tabulations of collected data. 5. Develop, and maintain training program for on-call staff consisting of general topics and issues which are specific to a particular survey. - Review the training program(s) annually or as required to ensure current techniques in survey administration are being applied. - Maintain and update a "Survey Administration Manual" to document survey unit procedures. - Conduct training sessions for groups of up to 20 on-call Survey Staff on interviewing and required skills (including how to deal with workers expressing suicidal thoughts) by using training knowledge and materials. - Conduct annual performance appraisals of on-call Survey Staff and manage situations that require corrective action. 6. Assist in analysis in of survey data and reporting. - Develop in-depth understanding of questions intent and develop a list of codes for each question. - Code survey responses for the purpose of quantitative analysis - Provide support in data analysis and report writing activities **Job Requirements**: 1) Education requirements: **Minimum Level Required** - Bachelors degree in social sciences or equivalent including course in statistical analysis **Preferred Level** - Bachelors degree in social sciences or equivalent 2.
