Environmental Health Safety Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated EHS Specialist to champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in OSHA and EPA regulations to implement and manage comprehensive EHS programs. Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish will be invaluable as you engage with employees at all levels, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive EHS excellence through active engagement on the production floor, fostering a proactive safety culture.
• Develop and deliver engaging EHS training programs, ensuring employees are well-versed in safety protocols and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local safety and environmental mandates, mitigating risks and promoting a compliant operation.
• Maintain meticulous documentation for audits, inspections, training sessions, permits, and regulatory submissions, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Conduct thorough site evaluations, risk analyses, and incident investigations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Coordinate environmental reporting, including air, water, waste, Tier II, and Form R, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Partner with plant leadership and corporate teams on safety initiatives and reporting, aligning EHS efforts with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in crafting and overseeing EHS documentation.
• Ability to work in both office and plant environments.

Preferred Skills

• CHMM, ASP/CSP, or CIH certification.
• 2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
