Environmental Health & Safety Senior Manager
Work Flexibility: Onsite
Job Summary
We are the Innovation + Architectural team of Acuity Brands Lighting, and we are inventing the future of light.
We do this by inspiring and empowering designers to create amazing experiences with light. As we shape the future of lighting through innovation, sustainability, and bold design, we also commit to creating safe, healthy, and thriving environments for the people who bring our vision to life.
We're looking for a passionate, proactive, and purpose-driven Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our team and oversee EH&S coordination across four dynamic facilities supporting four of our brands: Eureka, Cyclone, Luminis, and A-Light. This is a pivotal role for someone who is ready to step into a high-impact position with visibility across multiple sites and direct connection to our corporate EH&S function.
This isn't just a compliance role. It's a chance to shape culture, drive accountability, and be the heartbeat of safety across our three facilities in the Montreal area and one in Oceanside, California.
This position will support and oversee our three sites in Terrebonne, Pointe-Claire, and Montreal, with regular and ongoing travel required between locations.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
What You Will Own
- Coordinate EH&S efforts across four facilities, regularly visiting each site to assess safety practices, identify risks, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
- Engage directly with Directors of Operations and facility teams to implement changes and improvements that elevate safety and environmental performance.
- Serve as the primary link between our facilities and the corporate EH&S team, translating strategy into action and ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
- Champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, helping teams move beyond compliance to proactive risk management and innovation.
- Help develop and deliver training, build awareness, and foster engagement at all levels, from production teams to leadership.
- Track performance, analyze trends, and help sites prepare for audits and inspections.
Why This Role Matters
Our people are our greatest asset, and their safety is our highest priority. This role ensures that our facilities not only meet regulatory requirements but also embody our values of integrity, people, and community. You will be a visible leader, a trusted advisor, and a catalyst for change.
With less than 25 percent travel and a home base in the Montreal area, this role offers the perfect balance of mobility and stability, giving you the opportunity to build deep relationships across sites while staying rooted in one of Canada's most vibrant cities.

Who You Are
- You have 7 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing environments and a strong foundation in environmental, health, and safety practices.
- You are fluent in French and English and can connect with diverse teams across Quebec and Oceanside, California.
- You thrive in cross-functional settings and know how to build trust, drive follow-through, and keep teams aligned.
- You are comfortable with data, systems, and reporting, and you know how to turn insights into action.
- You care deeply about people and want to create workplaces where safety is second nature and innovation is encouraged.
What Success Looks Like
- Sites are audit-ready and consistently improving EH&S performance.
- Safety actions are tracked, enforced, and closed with discipline.
- Teams feel supported, informed, and empowered to take ownership of EH&S.
- Corporate EH&S has a clear, reliable partner on the ground.
