Quality Food Safety Coordinator Role

The Quality Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily activities of the site's food safety program. They report to the Area Facility/Complex Manager and have a dotted-line to the OBU Quality Group.

  • Provides leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that Food Safety/Quality requirements are met.
  • Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the Food Safety/Quality divisional programs.
  • Enforces Quality goals and KPIs, maintains Food Safety plan, and supports Operations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures processes and systems are adequate to implement, achieve, and maintain 3rd party certifications (GMP+, SQF, etc.) and FDA compliance.
  • Oversees usage of information technology systems (Policy Tech, APeCS, GEMINI, etc.).
  • Tracks and reports the Cost of Poor Quality to drive continuous improvement in the plant.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and good decision-making skills are required.
  • Escalates and communicates quality and food safety issues to Plant Management, Regional QFS, BU NA QFS Director, and the Technology Center.
  • Develops and delivers engaging and effective training, measures effectiveness of training, and makes updates for continuous improvement.
