This pivotal role requires efficient management of safety and compliance to ensure a well-organized, safe, and productive work environment.

• Create and implement effective safety programs and policies following local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Developing and Implementing Safety Programs: Design, implement, and maintain effective safety programs and policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, FDA).
• Conducting Risk Assessments and Inspections: Regularly conduct thorough risk assessments of all operational areas, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards.
• Investigating Incidents and Accidents: Lead investigations into all workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
• Providing Safety Training: Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive safety training programs for all employees.
• Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with all relevant safety and environmental regulations specific to the seafood industry.
• Managing Environmental Compliance: Oversee environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management, water quality, and air emissions.
• Maintaining Safety Records and Documentation: Accurately maintain all safety-related records, including training logs, inspection reports, incident reports, safety data sheets (SDS), and compliance documentation.
• Promoting a Safety Culture: Actively champion a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
